Let's not lower our standards for what we want this great City to become. Coconut Creek should opt out of this program and continue to punish those who use cannabis recreationally. Possessing 20 grams of marijuana is a tremendous amount of substance for one person.

Ruining lives does not increase standards in any way. Marijuana is less dangerous than alcohol or tobacco, or any RX drug. Taking otherwise law abiding people and throwing them into the criminal system for using a harmless drug is a waste of tax paper $ and people who otherwise will be working and paying taxes. Nobody wins, everybody loses. PLEASE DO NOT OPT OUT. The War on Drugs is a failure and it's time we look to the future and learn from the mistakes of the past.

During last week's Commission meeting, city commissioners unanimously voted to opt out of the County's program. They did agree on holding a Commission workshop to determine whether the city would create our own program. Thank you for your opinion and comments.
